The Drum Broker has released Crate Classics Vol. 1, a new boom bap MPC expansion from producer Marco Polo. For 30 days, Marco made a new beat each day on his MPC, then turned it into a playable 16-pad kit with that beat’s drums, bass, chops, chords, FX and vocals mapped and ready to go. The drums are Marco’s own. The bass, chords, leads and FX were recorded from his Roland Juno-106, Moog Model D, Matriarch and Grandmother, with no stock presets. The expansion includes 25 drum programs, 25 sequences, 25 complete demo projects at 77–100 BPM, and 400 WAV samples.
Buyers also get Marco Polo’s original MPC project folders. They can open the sessions, see how each kit and sequence was built, and rework the beats in their own projects. Crate Classics Vol. 1 ships with separate XPN builds for MPC 2 and MPC 3, tested in MPC Software 2.7 and 3.8. The WAV samples work in any DAW or drum machine. All sounds are 100% royalty free for commercial use, though the full demo beats may not be released as-is.
